Synopsis

Following Japan's elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Japan Football Association (JFA) launched a scouting program for high school players to begin training for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Isagi Yōichi, a forward, receives an invitation to join the program shortly after his school loses the Saitama Prefecture regional finals, a defeat that cost them a spot in the national championships.

Every forward in the program competes for the chance to become the national striker for the Japanese team. The program consists of 300 high school forwards from across Japan, all competing to prove they are the best and earn the right to lead Japan's National Football Team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Blue Lock is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. The series debuted in the 35th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine on August 1, 2018. Kaneshiro is well-known for his previous works, such as As the Gods Will (Kami-sama no Iu Tōri).

Nomura himself is a former assistant to Hajime Isayama, the creator of Attack on Titan. Isayama has praised Nomura’s work, stating that Blue Lock is "extraordinarily interesting" and recommending it to everyone, whether they are football fans or not. The story follows Miranda Priestly’s struggle against Emily Charlton, her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amidst the decline of print media while Miranda nears retirement.

Production Background

In 2013, Lauren Weisberger wrote a sequel titled Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns. For a long time, a film sequel seemed unlikely as the two lead stars showed little enthusiasm. Meryl Streep reportedly stated she wasn't interested in making a sequel, while Anne Hathaway mentioned she would be interested in working with the same team, but it would have to be "something completely different."

However, in July 2024, it was reported that Walt Disney Studios—the parent division of 20th Century Studios—was interested in developing a sequel. Negotiations began that July with Aline Brosh McKenna returning to write the screenplay, alongside Streep, Hathaway, Blunt, and Tucci reprising their original roles.

Principal photography began on June 30, 2025, with David Frankel returning to direct and Kenneth Branagh joining the cast. In July, it was announced that Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman would return, with Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Rachel Bloom, and Patrick Brammall joining the ensemble.

Streep, Hathaway, and Tucci were spotted filming in New York City during the week of July 21st. Blunt was seen for the first time a week later. Brammall and Hathaway were spotted filming together on August 5th, while Sydney Sweeney was seen on set with Blunt on August 7th. A pivotal airport scene was filmed in Newark on September 10, 2025.

Tucci and Streep filmed at Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan Fashion Week event on September 27th. Filming continued in Milan, Italy, from October 6 to 18. During October, Donatella Versace was spotted on set for a cameo appearance, while Lady Gaga was announced to have a role in the film.

Simone Ashley wrapped her scenes on October 17, 2025. Filming officially concluded on October 20, 2025. In November 2025, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, and Conrad Ricamora were also announced as part of the cast.

SAKAMOTO DAYS is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. It has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020, with 25 tankōbon volumes collected as of December 2025. The manga is published in English by Viz Media and the Manga Plus online platform.

That's my impression on the film that I initially underestimated with the simplicity of the plot that was developed at the beginning. But getting to the middle and towards the end of the plot twists a lot.

Kang Yoo-jin does not give up to keep looking for where his friend went, the first clue is a logo on the packaging of a match which after being traced is a night club. He was desperate to get in, luckily he was followed by the teacher Yeok Gi-cheol and saved from the gangsters.

The problem gets more complicated, when one of the young teachers who is still an intern at the same school turns out to be a pornography maniac, he installs a hidden camera in the women's toilet and manages to kidnap Kang Yoo Jin under the pretext of helping him find his friend.

The tension became more tense, when it was known that the young apprentice teacher was the son of the school principal, and this school principal was fighting in the local regent election.

There are a lot of things, finally, at the end we know that the perpetrator of Han Soo-yeon's murder is his own school principal. How is the story? one day when he felt he needed money, he joined as an entertainer in a cafe and the guest was the school principal.

Predicted to be a contender for the galaxy films Star Wars and Star Trek, it seems from the story side that Dune will be able to compete.

Rather than the exploitation of shootouts or chases in empty space, the intrigue of the struggle for power and politics is very strong in this remake film.

In general, Dune tells the story of how the empire suppressed a kingdom called Atreides, the ruler of a sea-mountain planet that was growing day by day and becoming a threat to the empire.

He forms a romantic relationship with Chani and assists during raids on Harkonnen spice harvesters, earning the names ‘Muad’Dib' and 'Usul.’ Jessica nefariously guides his ascent against his own judgment, fueling the religion of which she has become a prominent figure. Rabban, whose grip on spice production has been loosening, intensifies raids on the Fremen to please the Baron, who returns to his homeworld of Giedi Prime. Fremen leaders in the south hope for Paul to challenge Stilgar for leadership, but Paul denounces this, declaring himself the Lisan al-Gaib and refusing to remove his force of a great fighter such as Stilgar. He assumes full power over the Fremen and challenges the Emperor, who arrives on Arrakis with Irulan, Mohiam, and his Sardaukar troops. Paul interrupts the Emperor's confrontation with the Baron by launching nuclear warheads at Arrakeen’s stronghold fortress. Riding sandworms, the Fremen overpower Sardaukar forces and breach Arrakeen’s defenses; Gurney slays a fleeing Rabban.

Paul enters the throne room, kills the Baron, and orders the Emperor and others to be transported to the Residency. There, he threatens to destroy the spice unless the Emperor surrenders. Feyd-Rautha challenges him to a duel with the Emperor’s blade in hand and loses. With no choice, Shaddam surrenders the Imperial throne, and Irulan promises to wed Paul. Angry at his decision, Chani leaves with tears in her eyes, preparing to mount a worm elsewhere. As Paul orders attacks on ships carrying many Great Houses of the Imperium in Arrakeen airspace, Jessica and her unborn daughter discuss that this is the beginning of Muad’Dib’s holy war.

Oh boy! Barely 24 hours after Disney's initial copyright on Mickey Mouse expired, two new indie horror films starring the beloved character have been announced.

Steamboat Willie, the first Disney movie to feature Mickey, entered the public domain under US law on Monday, 95 years on from its initial release.

That means anyone is now free to copy, share, reuse and adapt the primitive, early versions of the characters that appear within the film, including Mickey and his girlfriend Minnie.

Despite warnings from Disney that it would seek to safeguard its most iconic character, opportunistic filmmakers had been expected to quickly announce their own unofficial remakes and adaptations – and they did not disappoint.

"We just wanted to have fun with it all," said Mickey's Mouse Trap director Jamie Bailey, in a trailer posted on YouTube.

"I mean it's Steamboat Willie's Mickey Mouse murdering people. It's ridiculous. We ran with it and had fun doing it and I think it shows."

The low-budget horror-comedy is expected to launch in March.

Meanwhile filmmaker Steven LaMorte – known for The Mean One, a 2022 slasher romp inspired by The Grinch – is working on his own "twisted take" on Mickey.

"Steamboat Willie has brought joy to generations, but beneath that cheerful exterior lies a potential for pure, unhinged terror," he said in a press release.

Production on the untitled film is due to begin this spring.

Both projects are reminiscent of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood And Honey, a micro-budget slasher film that drew headlines last year after the copyright on the first AA Milne books expired.

Analysts say Disney will be watching closely, and is likely to send in the lawyers if anyone oversteps.

Only the earliest, black-and-white version of Mickey is in the public domain – not the colourful character from later Disney films like Fantasia.

And trademark protections mean that any film or product that could mislead consumers into thinking it was made by Disney could be liable.

"We will, of course, continue to protect our rights in the more modern versions of Mickey Mouse and other works that remain subject to copyright, and we will work to safeguard against consumer confusion caused by unauthorised uses of Mickey and our other iconic characters," said a Disney statement.

But LaMorte told Variety he was not concerned.

"We are doing our due diligence to make sure there's no question or confusion of what we're up to," he said.

"This is our version of a public domain character."

At her own request, she was sent with three servants to her uncle Narses in Italy, but was kidnapped by robbers along the way. Her servants had recourse to the Church of Saint Eulalia, where they prayed for their mistress' safe return, and gave alms to the poor from their expense money.

The robbers intended to sell their captive for immoral purposes, but an angel slew the goaler and freed her. The devil seized the rest of the robbers. Arthelais soon met her servants, and they proceeded to Siponto. From there she went to the Sanctuary of Monte Sant'Angelo to make an offering in thanksgiving. Her uncle Narses went to meet her and brought her back to Benevento.

Here she settled and lived in prayer and piety exercises, working many miracles. Stricken by fever, she was transported to the church of San Luca, where she died at the age of seventeen. Her relics were later transferred to the Cattedrale metropolitana di Santa Maria de Episcopio.

Examples of films in the famous Disaster genre include Armageddon, which was released in 1998, starring Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck, or the 2012 film which was no less exciting at that time.

This time the film we will discuss is entitled Ashfall, a disaster action film from South Korea directed by director Kim Byung-seo. Not half-hearted in the cast, famous names took part in the film which was broadcast in Indonesia on January 8 2020. Disaster rocked Korea unexpectedly. When Baekdu - the highest mountain in Korea erupted and spewed ash into the atmosphere. A major disaster is now threatening Seoul (South Korea) and Pyongyang (North Korea). To deal with this disaster, a South Korean explosives expert (Ha Jung Woo) must work together with a North Korean special official (Lee Byung Hun) and the number one geologist (Ma Dong Seok) to stop a devastating disaster that could cause Korea to disappear from the world map forever.

The story is simple, bombing the side of a mountain so that the lava leaks out before the next eruption which could trigger a more powerful earthquake and tusnami. The CGI displayed is very neat, it's natural that this film is made by Dexter Studios, which has successfully presented the epic story Along With The Gods.

The ending of the story reminds me of the title of the film that I mentioned at the beginning, namely Armageddon, the mission is to detonate a bomb so that the earth is safe. Unfortunately it has to be triggered manually for various reasons, and yes, you have to let one of the main characters sacrifice themselves so that the others are safe.

Talking about Disaster Movies, Indonesia actually also has a film called Bangkit which was released in 2016 and stars Vino G Bastian, telling the story of flash floods that hit Jakarta. Even though the CGI side is still far behind, at least we already have local films in the disaster genre.

Overall it is interesting to watch, for those who missed the quiet cinema screening period, the film Ashfall can be enjoyed on Google Play Movies, you can rent it online. Score 7.5/10, happy watching.
